George H. Ellis

George H. Ellis, MD, 66, of Cumming died July 20, 2008.

Dr. Ellis graduated AOA from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He had a lengthy career as an OB-GYN and practiced in Somerset, KY; Birmingham, AL, and most recently at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.

Dr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Jackie Ellis; daughters, Christine Grisham and her husband, Andy, Laura McKelvey, Elizabeth Ellis and her husband, Wesley Lotz; and grandchildren, Parkes Grisham, Will Grisham, Neeley Grisham.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The George H. Ellis Memorial Fund for Ovarian Cancer Research at MD Anderson Cancer Ceneter, PO Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11 o'clock at Patterson's Arlington Chapel with Dr. Wiley Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 o'clock at H. M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
