Dr. Gene Frank Brossmann died Saturday, December 19, 1941 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Schulenburg, Texas, and had lived in Bryan for 26 years. He was retired after 20 years as a radiologist with St. Joseph Hospital and Bryan Radiology. He received a B.S. in Zoology from Texas A&M University in 1963 and his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1967.

He served in the U.S. Army for seven years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was a RICA team leader and was a monthly lector. He was past secretary of the Brazos-Robertson County Medical Society, was a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association and the Texas Radiological Society. He was a diplomat for the American College of Radiology and was also a member of the Radiological Society of North America and American Legion Post 159.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Brossmann of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Jeanette Brossmann of Mentor, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and John Roese of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and Lori and Shami Patel of Orinda, Calif.; four sisters, Frances Wendler of Schulenburg, Rosalee Gaskamp and Irene Barta, both of Hallettsville, Texas, and Lillian Fowle of Houston; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
